Last week, I gave thanks to all of my clients and made a contribution to a great charity called SAFE - SPECIAL ADVOCATES FOR ELDERS. It's a terrific program that I discovered here in Reno as I spread the word about my Elder Care Mediation services.

 

SAFE trains volunteer advocates to monitor the financial affairs, personal living conditions and medical treatment of seniors who are at risk of exploitation, neglect and other forms of abuse. SAFE volunteers accompany seniors to court and report to Family Court judges who are presiding over their cases, providing impartial information judges need to make decisions about the seniors' status.

 

The reason I chose this charity is because during hard economic times like these, the likelihood of exploitation of vulnerable seniors increases.  SAFE's caseload is up and their funding is down.

 

I am fortunate to be able to help to address the tremendous need.
