You may remember that in my January newsletter, I had the pleasure of telling you about my holiday charity, SAFE - Special Advocates for Elders.

Sadly, a short five months later, I have to share the very bad news that SAFE is closing due to loss of funding.  For the past 12 years, SAFE has been helping to ensure the well-being of senior citizens who no longer have the ability to take care of their own financial and medical well being.

Although the program relied mostly on volunteers, it also received $98,000 in funding which has now been cut.   

It is terrible that this safety net for those vulnerable seniors is no longer available. 

Thank-you to all of those who worked so hard and gave of your time to keep seniors safe.
